Public Involvement Overview

MTO and the Town of Innisfil are committed to an open consultation and engagement program that engages and involves members of the public, non-government organizations (NGOs), Simcoe County, Indigenous communities, and regulatory agencies. As such, the Project Team welcomes comments regarding the Highway 400/6th Line Interchange project.

All comments received, with the exception of personal information, will become part of the public record.

Notifications

Notification of project milestones (Study Commencement, Study Update, and ESR Addendum [if applicable]) will be announced through a notice posted on this website and the Town’s website. External agencies, Indigenous communities, and those on the study mailing list will be notified through direct mail or email.

Study Update

The review of the EA-approved interchange identified a number of issues that warrant consideration of design changes. A Study Update has been provided in the link below to present the outcome of this review and the proposed design changes to the interchange for further review and comment. The proposed design changes involve:

  • Updating the interchange design to meet current standards and best practices;

  • Realigning the proposed interchange ramps;

  • Replacing the proposed roundabouts with traffic signals at the ramp terminals;

  • Replacing the existing Innisfil Creek culvert crossing under Highway 400 with new bridges; and

  • Installing new bridges for the crossings of Innisfil Creek for the future West-to-South (W-S) and South-to-East/West ramps (S-E/W).

Please review the Study Update and the Preferred Interchange Plans below and provide comments by July 19, 2024:
